A Few Project Sneak Peeks

Brass Fireplace Surround | Paloma Contreras Design | La Dolce Vita

{We designed a custom, antiqued brass surround for our client’s fireplace.}

I realize that I haven’t done the best job of keeping you updated on my current design projects here on the blog. I often post glimpses of what I am working on on Instagram, but in case you missed it or you don’t yet follow me on Instagram, I wanted to be sure to share a few glimpses into some of the projects we at Paloma Contreras Design have been working on lately.

I feel so fortunate to work with clients who brighten my day when I see them and who are so trusting and appreciative as we work to transform their homes. Like any job, being a designer certainly has its stress-filled moments– backorders, furniture arriving damaged after months of waiting, contractor issues– but it is all worth it when we start to see things coming together! There is nothing quite like seeing a client’s reaction when they walk into a completed and fully installed room for the first time. To all of my wonderful clients– thank you for letting us into your homes and lives and for trusting me to do what I love most.

{We just installed a new pair of AERIN pendants for this client’s kitchen right before Thanksgiving and had the counter stools upholstered in white vinyl– perfect for kids!}

{I love this particular project! My client has great style. We have worked on this house for over a year now and we are almost finished with everything. Last month, all of the new furniture, lighting, and custom window treatments went into the living room.}

{This kitchen belongs to one of my sweetest clients, who is also the owner of the home with the brass fireplace surround at the beginning of this post. We did a major overhaul in the kitchen including a custom stainless and brass range hood, statement lighting, new counters, and the prettiest handmade subway tile I have seen.}

{I love this dining room so much. It is at once tailored and elegant, yet it feels like a breath of fresh air. Just wait until you see the beautiful art we selected!}

{My client already owned this very large, beautiful painting. I used it as inspiration for the palette in the space and in much of the house.}

{This is another client whom we’ve been working with for over a year. We recently installed her newly-designed guest bedroom for out of town guests. We also just finalized the nursery for her Christmas baby!}

{This bedroom belongs to another long-term client. She and her bible study group kept Tate in their prayers when he went through his health ordeal this summer. Isn’t that the sweetest thing? I truly feel blessed to work with such kind people. We made over almost their entire house and made the look and palette much softer that its previous iteration. We are all thrilled with the result. Pictured above is a bit of their master bedroom with their master bath below.}

{New paint, tile, countertops, lighting, and plumbing fixtures went into the master bath. I also designed the millwork with clear and antiqued mirror insets.}

{Lastly for now, I recently had a new built-in made for my office. It has given us so much more storage. I love it and the brass and Lucite hardware I selected for it!}

In the future, would you like for me to share more sneak peeks of projects or to chronicle the process or design projects with you here on the blog? I’d love to know!

  1. Everything is stunning! I especially love the gold chandelier in the dining room and nightstand decor in the master bedroom. Also, I like the sneak peaks but I love seeing the cohesiveness of a chronicled installation!

  2. These are all so beautiful! Seeing glimpses of your work and seeing the progress of projects with your expert commentary would be awesome.

  3. Love these gorgeous pictures of your projects! Seeing the creative process is wonderful for us “readers”….but we also love to see the final selections! Beautiful work Paloma.

  4. This is one spectacular design job Paloma! I love everything about it. I hope it’s published in a magazine because it definitely is stellar. Happy Holidays to you and yours. xo Nancy
