A Top Designer’s Home for Sale

The New York penthouse of designers, Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent was featured in the October issue of Architectural Digest at the beginning of the fall. It is a richly layered space, dressed in warm neutrals, and is very telling of both Nate’s and Jeremiah’s personal aesthetics. The home was an instant hit across the internet and social media since everyone loves to see what this talented and handsome duo is up to. We are a voyeuristic bunch, aren’t we? It was also great to see their sweet daughter, Poppy’s cute nursery.

I love perusing my local real estate listings regularly, so when I happened across the photo above on Pinterest the other day and it was attributed to a New York real estate listing, I clicked through. As I scrolled through the photos, I realized it was Nate’s house! The 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath penthouse located in the heart of Greenwich Village is currently on the market for $10.5 million. Housed in a 1920s, Spanish-style Emery Roth building, the penthouse has been completely renovated and outfitted with the finest fixtures and fittings. I was struck by how soft the home looks in these images. The photos in Architectural Digest were beautiful, but felt much more graphic. The listing photos show the home in a slightly softer light and are shot at a wider angle, so we can see more of each room, along with a few rooms that didn’t make it into the AD feature. It was fun seeing this space again. It made me realize how much I like it and how simultaneously striking and soothing a completely neutral palette can be.

    • Claude, I am wondering the same thing! I believe Nate and his partner, Jeremiah split their time between New York and Los Angeles. They may even spend time in Chicago, where Nate’s business is based. I have an inkling they may be spending more time on the West Guest, but that is just my guess. It is a beautiful apartment regardless!
