A Vibrant Brooklyn Brownstone

AD Nick Olsen

I love living in my hometown of Houston, but it’s frustrating to see that my friends in New York and Los Angeles always get the new issues of my favorite magazines before I do! Case in point, the August issue of Architectural Digest, which looks amazing. Have you seen it yet? I haven’t actually found it yet, but I did come across this chic Brooklyn brownstone designed by Nick Olsen on the Architectural Digest website.

I find Nick’s work particularly inspiring because he decorates with moxie and most importantly, joy. The rooms that Nick designs are always filled with vibrant colors, a dazzling mix of antiques and modern pieces, beautiful fabrics, and statement-making art. His style feels very New York to me. Would you agree? From his penchant for lacquered, jewel box libraries to the preppy, mostly feminine fabrics he employs, Nick’s look is traditional to the core in the most charming, refreshing way. For more images of the home and the full story behind the project, be sure to read the new issue of AD.
