Legends of La Cienega 2015

2015 Legends Ambiance-0007-X3

 The week before last, I had the pleasure of attending this year’s Legends of La Cienega event in Los Angeles as a social media ambassador for the second year in a row. The event spans two and a half days, counting the opening gala, and is filled with a flurry of activity from keynote panels, presentations, power lunches, book signings, cocktail parties, and amazing networking opportunities. Designers, editors, and the who’s who of design flock to L.A. for Legends every year and this year, they did so in record-breaking numbers making it the most successful Legends event thus far. There was a buzz and energy unlike anything I have experienced at other design events and there is no doubt that Legends of La Cienega is the “must-attend” design event of the year. Each year, designers are invited to create inspiring window displays on La Cienega and Melrose in the spirit of that year’s theme. This year, the theme was “Where Muses Dwell” and you’ll see the winning windows towards the end of this post.

Legends of La Cienega La Dolce Vita

{I convinced my friend, Jeni, a talented floral designer from Northern California to meet me in L.A. and take part in the Legends festivities with me. On Wednesday, we went to the Lee Stanton showroom for a special champagne toast to kick off the event with all of the other Legends participants. Afterwards, we went next door to STK for the Opening Gala. It was so packed that we didn’t have a chance to take a photo, but we did get one at a party later that evening at a party at Nathan Turner’s shop in celebration of the window Serena & Lily had designed for Legends of La Cienega. Here, Jeni and I are pictured with Martyn Lawrence Bullard, who is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met in this industry.}

{After all of the Legends festivities on Friday, we headed to Santa Monica after the Finale Party for an intimate gathering at the home of Kathryn Ireland. For those of you who know Kathryn from Bravo’s Million Dollar Decorators, you might recognize her chic, French housekeeper, Jacqueline who graciously posed for a photo with Jeni, our new friend Krista Ewart, and me.}

In all honesty, this barely scratches the surface of all of the excitement, inspiration, and fun of Legends of La Cienega. I can’t wait to go back next year! In the meantime, you can find more images on my Instagram.

  1. I love reading and seeing the different ways that people view LEGENDS. What a pretty recap, Paloma!

  2. So much beautiful eye candy! I couldn’t get over all the fabrics and peonies in one space, still daydreaming about that scene. It was a wonderful few days meeting and listening to so many inspiring people in the design industry. As always, our time spent together was lovely and refreshing. Looking forward to more adventures!
