Modern Moment

Modern Moment via La Dolce Vita | Jenni Kayne

While my own design work and aesthetic are typically rooted in the traditional, I like to imbue every space I touch with a modern sensibility. Achieving that balance is one of the most rewarding things about design for me. Lately though, I have found myself incredibly drawn to spaces that are more purely modern featuring neutral palettes, sleek lines, and statement-making art. While I can admire ultra-modern rooms from afar and appreciate their design, I don’t think I’ll ever be attracted to a room composed of white walls, white floors, severe furniture, and primary-colored abstract art. That look just isn’t for me. What I can get behind, though, is a modern look filled with warmth and texture, much like the beautiful rooms featured in this post. You’ll find that they are filled with unique wood finishes, leather, and a variety of fabrics, though there isn’t much pattern. These spaces are chic, interesting, and appear comfortable and inviting. If this is modern, then I am definitely having a modern moment. How about you?

  1. All such beautiful spaces. I am drawn to this look as well. Such crisp, modern spaces; but careful use of natural wood tones and various textures keep them organic and warm. Thank you for sharing.
