Black + White is Always Right

image {There are few things I love as much as a white house with black shutters.}

I don’t think I will ever tire of black and white. There isn’t anything more basic or beautiful to me than a well-done composition of black and white whether it is in fashion or decor. As much as I love to embrace color, sometimes it just feels good to get back to basics and nowhere does this ring more true than in beautiful architecture. I dream of one day owning a beautiful white brick house with black shutters. Timeless, elegant, and classic, black and white is always right!

  1. I love black & white – but I find true black and white a little boring. It is when black and white is set off by the beautiful greenery or a camel colored chair that really makes it sing.

  2. I love a good black & white decor. Its so clean and fresh, plus you can always use fun accents to change up the house (my favorite being lavender!) The front door to Aerin Lauder’s Home in The Hamptons is my favorite!! Love the detailing!!

  3. You are absolutely right, timeless, elegant and classic! I love the white tulips that Arentz landscape Architects used to echo the them against the black door and white house and dark “black” ivy. Also love the simplicity of the London townhouse. Elegant!

  4. You are so right, timeless, elegant and classic, always right! I love the white tulips Arentz Landscape Architects used to continue the black and white them of the home. Also love the London townhouse, elegant.
